About the role
We are seeking an experienced Forest Manager to join our team at PF Olsen Ltd
in Napier, Hawkes Bay. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring
the efficient and effective management of our forestry management operations.
This is a full-time position that requires strong leadership, technical
expertise, and a commitment to health and safety.
What you’ll be doing

Develop and implement forestry plans to meet production targets and
ensure optimal utilisation of forestry resources
·
Manage and coordinate crews, including monitoring performance, providing
guidance and training, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols
·
Liaise with landowners, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure
the seamless coordination of forestry activities
·
Monitored and analyse data to identify areas for improvement and make
data-driven decisions
·
Ensure that all forestry operations are conducted in compliance with
relevant legislation, industry standards, and the company’s policies and
procedures
·
Continuously seek opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and
enhance the sustainability of our forestry operations
What we’re looking for
·
Experience (3+ years) in a similar role within the forestry or
horticulture industry
·
Demonstrated expertise in forestry operations, including the use of
specialized equipment and machinery
·
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the
ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
·
Proficient in data analysis and the use of relevant software and
technology to support decision-making
·
Commitment to health and safety, with a proven track record of
implementing and maintaining robust safety protocols
