Pegasus Health is creating a new leadership role that brings together three established and highly valued community-based services into one integrated team. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of service delivery while honouring and strengthening the excellent mahi already underway across our Refugee Health, Tautoko Hauora, and Child Health and Whānau services.
As our new Team Leader – Whānau and Community, you will provide clinical and operational leadership across these services, supporting one connected team with a shared purpose: improving health and wellbeing outcomes for our communities, whānau, and service users. You will bring people together, create service efficiencies, strengthen systems and processes, and ensure our services continue to deliver high-quality, equitable, and culturally responsive care.
About the Role
This is a role for someone who can see both the bigger picture and the detail.
You will be responsible for leading and developing a diverse multidisciplinary team, creating consistency across service delivery, and identifying opportunities to improve the way we work together. At the same time, you will ensure the clinical integrity of our services remains strong and that the excellent support already provided to our communities continues to flourish.
Working closely with community partners, primary care providers, NGOs, and internal teams, you will help strengthen pathways of care, enhance coordination, and ensure services remain responsive to the needs of those we serve. Manaakitanga, collaboration, and equity will be at the heart of your leadership approach.
What You’ll Bring
We’re looking for an experienced and credible health professional who combines strong clinical expertise with proven leadership capability.
You’ll bring:
- A current New Zealand Annual Practising Certificate (APC).
- Registration as a health or social service professional (for example, Registered Social Worker, Registered Nurse , or equivalent).
- Significant experience working within healthcare or social services, ideally within primary care, community health, or integrated service delivery.
- Experience leading people through change while building positive, high-performing teams.
- Confidence establishing systems, processes, and ways of working that improve efficiency and service outcomes.
- Strong clinical judgement and the ability to support complex decision-making and risk management.
- A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and improving health equity outcomes.
- Exceptional relationship-building skills and the ability to work effectively with Māori, Pasifika, Former Refugees, and culturally diverse communities.
