Kaiārahi Team Leader – Reception Services (24 Hour Surgery)

Mō te tūranga | About the role

Lead from the front in a fast-paced urgent care environment. This hands-on leadership role ensures reception services run smoothly while delivering a professional and patient-centred experience.

You’ll support a team of around 20 reception staff, working closely with the Operations Support Manager to manage day-to-day operations, respond to demand, and provide real-time guidance on the floor.

Ngā kawenga matua | Key responsibilities

You will oversee daily reception operations, ensuring efficient patient flow and a positive front-line experience.

You’ll lead, coach and support your team in real time, manage rostering and staffing to meet demand, and respond effectively to patient concerns.

You will also support recruitment, onboarding and training, contribute to service improvements, and participate in the on-call manager roster.

Ngā pūkenga | What you will bring

You will have experience leading a frontline team in a busy, customer or patient-facing environment, with strong operational leadership and the ability to manage workflow under pressure.

You’ll be confident with systems and technology, comfortable coaching others, and capable of handling challenging situations professionally.

Experience in healthcare or urgent care and familiarity with patient management systems such as Indici is an advantage.
