The
Pegasus Health 24 Hour Surgery (24HS), a division of Pegasus Health, is
committed to providing high quality, 24 hour urgent medical and accident care
to the people of Canterbury in our new facility at 401 Madras Street.
What
you will be doing
This
is an exciting opportunity for expert nurses to become part of the Pegasus
Health 24 Hour Surgery Advanced Nursing Practice team, while working and
studying towards becoming a nurse practitioner (NP). The 24 Hour Surgery
has developed a NP development framework that will assist nurses on their
journey to NP and complements the academic requirements of the NP training.
The
NP Candidate (Intern) positions will be commencing in January 2027 for the 2027 academic
year. The positions are for registered nurses in their final year of
Nursing Council accredited Clinical Master of Nursing in 2027, or who have
completed a MN specific to the requirements for NP and need assistance with
developing evidence for their NP portfolio. Once the NP Candidates have obtained
NP registration with the Nursing Council, they will be offered a NP position.

We
welcome applications from Nurses with:
- New Zealand Nursing Council registration and
annual practicing certificate as a Registered nurse
- Four or more years experience in an
emergency/urgent care or primary health care setting
- A postgraduate Diploma (minimum) in advanced
practice nursing (or similar) that meets the requirements of the New
Zealand Nursing Council in regards to specific papers required towards a
Master of Nursing specific to Nurse Practitioner with a Grade Point
Average (GPA) of 5.0 or above
- A passion for nursing and providing excellent
patient care
- A willingness to continue studying towards a
Master of Nursing, specific to Nurse Practitioner
Candidates
need to be able to provide evidence of their academic transcript for external
confirmation that it meets the requirements for NP registration.
