Kaiwhakarite | Mental Health Coordinator- Primary Mental Health Service

Mō te tūranga | About the role 

We’re looking for a Kaiwhakarite | Mental Health Coordinator to provide high‑quality administrative and operational support across our Primary Mental Health services. This role enables clinicians and teams to deliver effective, equitable care and acts as a welcoming point of contact for tāngata whai ora and stakeholders, grounded in manaakitanga and whanaungatanga. 

Ngā kawenga matua | Key responsibilities 

You will provide administrative and operational support across Primary Mental Health services, including supporting the Brief Intervention Talking Therapy (BITT) service with referral administration and serving as the welcoming, professional face of the service for tāngata whai ora. The role involves maintaining accurate records, completing audits, supporting service reporting, processing clinician and contractor payments, coordinating facilities issues, and contributing to continuous improvement, information security, health and safety, and equity commitments.

You are experienced in administration or coordination, ideally within a health or community setting, and are highly organised with strong attention to detail. You communicate confidently and professionally, take a people‑centred approach, and are comfortable using Patient Management Systems and standard office technology. You value confidentiality, are committed to equity in health outcomes, and demonstrate understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
