Kairuruku Ārai Mate | Immunisation Coordinator Permanent | 0.8 FTE (32 hours per week)

As our Kairuruku Ārai Mate | Immunisation Coordinator, you will support the delivery of high-quality immunisation services across the lifespan. You will work alongside general practices, community providers and health sector partners, providing education, professional support and clinical expertise to strengthen immunisation services across Waitaha | Canterbury.

Ko tāu ake mahi | What you will be doing

  • Providing high-quality immunisation support, professional advice and targeted education for healthcare providers across Waitaha | Canterbury.
  • Working together with other Immunisation Coordinators and immunisation providers in Canterbury to ensure immunisation services are equitable, accessible, and appropriate to the needs of the community.
  • Supporting Pegasus Health and Health New Zealand Waitaha Canterbury to deliver immunisation programmes that proactively support pēpi, tamariki and their whānau to receive on-time immunisations.

Ko ngā pūkenga ōu | What you will bring

  • We are looking for someone with strong clinical knowledge, sound judgement, clear communication skills and a commitment to improving immunisation outcomes for whānau and communities.
  • NZ Registered Nurse with a current Practising Certificate.  
  • Current Authorised Vaccinator status (Whole of Life) • 5+ years’ post-graduate registered nursing experience.
  • Proficiency with patient management systems.
  • Extensive working knowledge of immunisation across the lifespan and general practice delivery of immunisation services.
  • You will understand our commitment to improving health outcomes and achieving health equity through our Te Tiriti o Waitangi obligations, including recognising barriers to accessing health services for some communities and contributing to Kia atawhai ki te tangata, Pegasus Health’s Equity Strategy. It is desirable you demonstrate an understanding of Māori indigenous rights and current issues relating to health and health equity.
