Description

We’re looking for an Orchard Supervisor to join our orchard team.

This is a full-time, permanent position reporting to the Orchard Manager. The role is based on a 40-hour work week, usually worked Monday to Friday, with additional hours and weekend work required during seasonal peak periods.

 

ABOUT THE ROLE

As Orchard Supervisor, you’ll work closely with the Orchard Manager to supervise and coordinate day-to-day orchard operations across our kiwifruit orchards.  You’ll:

  • Supervise,coordinate, and support orchard teams, including RSE and seasonal workers
  • Oversee the completion of orchard activities, including pruning, thinning, vine training, canopy management, irrigation, and harvesting
  • Monitor work quality, productivity, and orchard standards
  • Share knowledge, train new staff, and uphold high standards of work
  • Assist with record-keeping, electronic timesheets, and orchard performance tracking
  • Help oversee health & safety, biosecurity, and quality compliance in the field .

 

ABOUT YOU

You’ll be practical, proactive, and a strong team player. You’ll bring:

  • At least 2 years hands-on experience in kiwifruit operations, such as pruning, thinning, and vine management
  • At least 2 years previous experience supervising orchard or horticulture teams
  • Good knowledge of machinery and tractor operations
  • Strong communication and people leadership skills
  • A strong focus on health, safety, and doing the job right the first time
  • Confidence working with people from a range of backgrounds
  • Full driver’s licence

 

Relevanthorticulture qualifications are beneficial but not required.
