Aquaculture Farmer

If you would like to work in the great outdoors with a friendly team, this is your chance to join Mount Cook Alpine Salmon as an Aquaculture Farmer! Our fish are growing fast, and so are we. Come and raise some of the world’s rarest and most premium Freshwater King Salmon. 

About the job 

You’ll be out on the water feeding our salmon, maintaining nets and equipment, keeping farm records up to date, and helping with general farm tasks. Your work helps our fish stay healthy as and grow. It’s hands-on, physical, and perfect for someone who enjoys fresh air, teamwork, and learning on the job.

We deliver sustainably farmed, premium-quality Freshwater King Salmon to customers in New Zealand and around the world. Our product is extraordinary and rare: we are the only company that exports Freshwater King Salmon. Our team of over 200 are spread across the South Island at our farms in Twizel, our processing plant in Timaru, our smokehouse in Christchurch and our corporate office in Queenstown.

What you’ll bring 

• Willingness to learn and give things a go 
• A full or restricted NZ driver’s license (class 1)

• Aquaculture qualification is a bonus but not essential
