Sustaining Tenancies provides support to individuals and whānau who need help to sustain their tenancies and address any issues which put their tenancy at risk.

Methodist Mission Southern is an innovative social justice agency based in Dunedin delivering this service through Otago and Southland.

About the Role

We are looking for a Community Services Specialist Taituarā a Hapori to support our community in Waihōpai Invercargill and Southland. This role is full-time, 40 hours per week.

The core elements of this work are;

• Privileging the individual and whānau voice and choices;

• A focus on skills development, accessing community resources and knowledge-building;

• The use of evidence-backed tools;

• An outcome-orientation;

To be successful in this role you will be

An independent worker who is self-motivated and passionate about helping to prevent homelessness and focused on building the skills and resilience of individuals and whānau in the service.

You will have;

• Excellent communication and reporting skills

• Well developed networking skills

• High level of computer competency

• Excellent time management and interpersonal skills

• Experience with client led solutions using the client voice to achieve positive outcomes

• Connections into diverse communities in Otago

Experience in education, occupational therapy, speech therapy, legal or advocacy services, tenancy services, property management, and community networking would be well regarded.
