Finance Manager – New Zealand

We’re looking for an experienced Finance Manager to lead both financial control and commercial finance activities for our New Zealand business. This is a pivotal role partnering closely with the NZ leadership team, providing clarity, rigour and insight to support commercial decision‑making while ensuring strong governance, compliance and reporting.

About the role
Reporting into the broader Commercial and Corporate Finance function, the Finance Manager NZ has end‑to‑end accountability for the integrity of financial reporting, while also acting as a commercial partner to the NZ leadership team.
This role is ideally suited to someone who enjoys balancing hands‑on financial control with forward‑looking commercial analysis, and who can confidently translate data into insight.

Key responsibilities
Financial Control
- Own the integrity, accuracy and timeliness of the NZ general ledger, income statement and balance sheet
- Manage all month‑end processes to audit‑ready standards, including journals, reconciliations and clearing accounts
- Oversee NZ‑related accounts payable (based in Australia) and accounts receivable (based in Philippines) activities
- Lead NZ statutory audit processes and support group half‑year and year‑end audits
- Ensure full compliance with NZ tax obligations, including BAS and annual income tax returns
Commercial Finance
- Partner with the NZ leadership team on budgeting and forecasting, ensuring assumptions are rigorous, transparent and commercially sound channels, categories and brands
- Provide financial modelling and analysis for new business opportunities, customer proposals and contract negotiations
- Partner with cost centre owners to understand cost drivers, monitor variances and support corrective actions
- Act as a trusted advisor to the General Manager NZ, delivering meaningful insights that inform decision‑making
What you’ll bring
- Proven experience across both financial control and commercial finance
- Strong understanding of accounting standards, audit requirements and tax compliance
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling
- Advanced analytical capability with the ability to turn data into clear commercial insights
- A continuous improvement mindset and confidence working in a fast‑paced commercial environment
- Ability to build strong relationships across finance, sales and operational teams
