About The Position

One of our operating companies, Lancom, is looking for an experienced Technical Account Manager to join their team in Auckland.

As a Technical Account Manager, you will own a portfolio of strategic customers, helping them make informed technology decisions, develop long-term roadmaps and maximise the value of their IT investments. You will work closely with technical delivery teams while acting as the primary trusted advisor for your customers, translating complex technology into practical business outcomes.

 

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage a portfolio of strategic customer accounts.
  • Build trusted relationships with business and technical stakeholders, including CIOs, IT Managers and executive leaders.
  •  Develop and maintain technology roadmaps aligned with customer business goals.
  • Lead regular Technology Business Reviews (TBRs), governance meetings and strategic planning sessions.
  • Identify technology risks, lifecycle requirements and opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide strategic guidance across cloud, infrastructure, cybersecurity, networking and modern workplace technologies.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Delivery and Technical teams to ensure customer outcomes are successfully achieved.
  • Coordinate technical resources and specialists to deliver the right solutions for customers.
  • Support renewals, technology planning and long-term customer success through strong commercial awareness.
  • Continuously improve processes, governance and customer engagement practices.

 

Skills required

  • 5+ years’ experience in IT, consulting, professional services, or enterprise technology environment (MSP highly desirable)
  • A background as a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, Cloud Engineer, Technical Consultant, Solutions Consultant, Systems Architect, Technology Advisor, IT Manager or similar.
  • Experience acting as a trusted technical advisor to customers.
  • Strong understanding of technology lifecycle management, governance and strategic planning.
  • Knowledge across several of the following: AWS cloud services Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 Networking, firewalls and connectivity Infrastructure, virtualisation and hybrid environments Cybersecurity and risk management Backup, disaster recovery and business continuity Identity and access management Endpoint management and collaboration platforms
  • The ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to balance business objectives, technical requirements and budget considerations.
  • Excellent planning, organisation and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive, strategic mindset with the confidence to challenge constructively and influence positive outcomes.

Desirable:

  • Experience in AWS-focused environments.
  • AWS or Microsoft Azure certifications (or willingness to obtain).
  • ITIL Foundation certification.
  • Experience supporting multi-site organisations or customers in hospitality, gaming, retail, healthcare or logistics.
