Tamariki Matanga – Join Our Team at KFST

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of tamariki and rangatahi? KFST is seeking dedicated professionals to join our team as Tamariki Matanga. We are looking for individuals who are either registered social workers or have 5+ years of experience in a similar role.

Requirements:

  • Meet the NZ Social Workers Registration Board (SWRB) requirements OR
  • Hold a Level 7 degree in a relevant discipline and be registered with an appropriate professional body OR
  • Be willing to work towards a Level 7 qualification (KFST will support you to achieve this).

You will have extensive experience working with tamariki and rangatahi who have had involvement with Oranga Tamariki, NZ Police, or other community-based services providing intensive support.

Essential:

  • Full, clean driver’s license
  • Police check
  • Drug-free and smoke-free
  • Ability to apply the articles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in practice

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong understanding of the Children, Oranga Tamariki Act 1989, Guardianship Act 1968, Privacy Act 2020, and Official Information Act 1982
  • Expertise in delivering high-standard social work services and meeting KPIs
  • Excellent computer literacy, time management, case noting, and report writing
  • Ability to work cross-culturally, advocate effectively, and manage caseloads
  • Negotiation and conflict resolution skills

Highly Desirable:

  • Experience in Te Ao Māori programmes or kaupapa
  • Family and sexual violence experience
  • Strengths-based and continuous quality improvement models
