Some of the most important mahi happens long before crisis.

It happens when organisations have the resources to invest in prevention, early intervention, and services designed around the aspirations of tamariki and whānau.

At Kirikiriroa Family Services Trust, transitioning into Tamariki Tū Tamariki Ora (TTTO), we are preparing for significant growth. With 12 services and approximately 80 kaimahi currently supporting tamariki, rangatahi and whānau across the Waikato, we are building toward a future where our impact extends further across Aotearoa.

To do that, we need someone who understands funding not simply as dollars secured, but as an opportunity to create lasting change.

We are seeking an experienced Funding & Impact Lead to drive the investment, partnerships, and evidence that enable transformative kaupapa for tamariki and whānau to grow.

This is not a traditional funding role.

This role sits at the intersection of strategy, investment, philanthropy, government funding, impact measurement, innovation, and legacy building.

You will help secure the resources that make meaningful change possible.

This specialist role leads the full funding lifecycle, including:

• Developing funding strategies and managing pipelines across government, philanthropy and community investment • Writing high quality bids, tenders, proposals and business cases • Building and maintaining strong relationships with funders and investment partners • Designing and supporting impact measurement and reporting frameworks • Leading legacy and planned giving approaches • Exploring innovative funding models including social investment and long-term partnerships • Providing strategic advice to leadership around organisational sustainability and growth

You will work closely alongside senior leadership to position our organisation as a credible, innovative and high-performing investment partner.

About you

You may come from funding, grants, philanthropy, business development, public policy, Māori development or strategic investment.

What matters most is your ability to connect investment with impact.

You will bring:

• 5+ years’ experience in funding, grants management, business development or related areas • Demonstrated success securing significant funding outcomes • Exceptional writing skills across bids, tenders and proposals • Experience translating evidence and data into compelling narratives • Strong relationship management capability • Strategic thinking and ability to identify future opportunities • Knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and commitment to kaupapa Māori approaches

Experience within Māori organisations, social services, philanthropy, or impact investment environments will be highly regarded.

What we offer

• Competitive remuneration: $100–$130 per hour depending on experience

• Fixed term role for 12 months

• 20 hours per week with flexibility around when those hours are worked

• Access to Te Reo Māori learning opportunities

• Flexible working arrangements, with remote options considered

• Opportunity to help shape the long-term sustainability and growth of services supporting tamariki and whānau

Why this role matters

The future of tamariki outcomes depends on more than service delivery.

It depends on sustainable investment, courageous thinking, and people willing to advocate for funding models that prioritise prevention, wellbeing and intergenerational change.

If you want your work to contribute to something bigger, we would love to hear from you.
