We’re looking for a Retail Wine Sales Manager to work alongside our newly created Outbound Wine Sales Manager role to delivery unforgettable wine experiences and achieve sales goals. This role will be hands-on, lead by example, and be a super star coach to our wine team.

Role Location: Gibbston

Role Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Base Salary $95,000, with uncapped commission earning potential

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead the Wine Store, Cellar Door, and Wine bar teams to delivery world-glass guest experiences and achieve sales targets.
  • Lead by example and “walk the talk” on what makes an exceptional wine experience.
  • Collaborate with the GM of Wine to refine product mix, pricing, and promotional strategies to maximise our offerings.
  • Hold regular training, coaching, and support to your team, including performance conversations to identify development opportunities.
  • Monitor, report, and improve sales performance, ensuring all financial targets, such as budget, and KPI’s, are met.

Key Qualities and Experience

  • Be an exceptional people leader that can lead by example.
  • Be able to interpret sales data and have experience with direct-to-customer sales.
  • Be able to coach our amazing wine time with your experience, knowledge, and skillset of elevating the wine sales process.
  • Have a great knowledge and understanding of Central Otago wines and sub-regions, or a willingness to learn.
  • Generally be passionate about wine and the hospitality industry!
  • Have the ability to inspire your team to deliver world-leading wine experiences.
  • Have flexibility to support during busy times, including working a weekend day.
