He kōrero mō te tūranga | The Role
This opportunity will allow you to use your life skills and professional expertise to support our clients in identifying their financial goals and developing a plan to achieve sustainable financial well-being. You will advocate on their behalf with creditors, housing providers and landlords, and government agencies. Provide one-on-one budgeting advice and facilitate group workshops and sessions
that build financial confidence and capability
What you will need to have:
- Relevant training/qualification in financial mentoring
- Knowledge of budgeting, saving, debt management, and credit contracts
- Astute communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to inspire and motivate people to achieve their goals
- Ability to advocate, network and build positive community relationships
- Knowledge of New Zealand’s health system and local community groups and resources
- Commitment to The Treaty of Waitangi and understanding of tikanga Māori
