The Role

The Operations Manager / Superintendent provides the fundamental link between managers and delivery crews, fosters and leads the company culture that makes JFC stand apart from our competitors.

You will develop intrinsic knowledge of what JFC does and how we do it and are a key force in reviewing projects methodologies, driving efficiency and developing effective teams.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Resource Organisation – Manage the ground crews, plant allocation and performance, distributing resources to project teams with a best for business approach, whilst maintaining relationships and contact with individuals.
  • Staff development – manage the career and training progression of the ground team and are responsible for the Performance Review process as well as minimising unplanned exits from the business.
  • Competency Assessments – ensure the workforce are trained, experienced and competent to undertake the works on the project they are assigned to.
  • Project Delivery – Ensuring each project has a fortnightly look ahead planning board that is managed and resourced effectively.

  • Excellent People Management skills – creating and building a positive team culture with a focus of high performing teams
  • Strong track record – delivering complex civils projects on time and within budget
  • Proven civil construction experience – Particularly in urban infrastructure, structures and rail projects.
  • Strong Project Management Skills – across safety, production, programming, contracts, financial management and stakeholder management.
  • Technical Proficiency – Strong computer literacy and familiarity with construction management software.
  • Collaborative and Solutions-Focused Attitude – Someone who adds value and takes ownership of projects.
