As we continue to strengthen our financial capability in New Zealand, we’re seeking an experienced and detail‑oriented Financial Accountant to support our Finance team and ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial operations.
About the Role
Based in New Zealand and reporting to our Financial Manager, this role provides essential financial support to both our New Zealand holiday park network and head office team.
This is a hands on, fast paced accounting role where you’ll be responsible for:
- Managing accurate financial records and general ledger transactions.
- Completing bank, payroll, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Supporting month end processes, including journals and financial reporting.
- Assisting with annual financial statements and working with external accountants.
- Preparing NZ GST returns and ensuring compliance with all financial and tax requirements.
- Supporting the development and improvement of financial policies, processes, and controls.
- Providing timely financial information to support decision making across the business.
- Working closely with our Australian Finance team to ensure alignment of processes and reporting.
You’ll be the go-to accounting expert for our NZ operations blending accuracy, problem solving, and financial insight in a role that offers variety, autonomy, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact as our New Zealand footprint continues to grow.
What We’re Looking For
You’re an experienced finance professional who prides yourself on accuracy, ownership, and delivering high‑quality work. You enjoy getting into the detail, ensuring financial records are correct, and supporting smooth financial operations across the business. You’re confident working independently while staying closely connected with a wider finance team across borders.
You’ll bring:
- 2+ years of experience in a bookkeeping, accounting, or financial support role
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and general ledger processes
- Proven ability to complete reconciliations, manage journals, and support month end activities
- Experience preparing GST and working within financial and tax compliance frameworks
- High proficiency in Excel, Word, and financial systems
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and analytical thinking
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with stakeholders
- A proactive, responsible, and solutions focused approach to your work
- You’ll stand out if you’ve completed Accounting or Finance studies and have worked in multi- site or fast‑moving operational settings.
