The role
The Chief Financial Officer is a member of the Senior Leadership Team, responsible for providing strategic financial leadership, strong financial stewardship and insight to support decision‑making
by the CEO, Senior Leadership Team and Board.
This role is central to Habitat Central’s financial planning, asset and capital management, ensuring strong controls and compliance, and providing strong commercial insight across all activities.
Key responsibilities
- Strategic financial advice and analysis for the CEO, SLT and Board
- Commercial finance modelling
- Lead annual budgeting, rolling forecasts and scenario analysis
- Deliver timely high‑quality management and Board reporting with clear insights
- Oversee capital, cashflow, reserves and banking relationships
- Maintain strong internal controls, risk management and financial governance
- Lead statutory reporting, audit processes and funder compliance
- Support development opportunities, commercial activity and partnerships
- Lead, develop and support the finance team and financial systems
- Build and own relationships with Government and community funders across the region
About you
You’re a senior finance leader who is values‑driven and comfortable operating at both strategic and operational levels. You bring strong financial governance skills, can clearly communicate insights to non‑financial stakeholders, and enjoy partnering across an organisation to enable impact.
You will ideally have at least 10 years’ experience and can demonstrate:
- CA/CPA (or equivalent) and/or significant senior finance leadership experience
- Strong budgeting, forecasting, reporting and governance capability
- Experience managing audit, statutory reporting and compliance
- Sound treasury, cashflow and risk management skills
- Commercial acumen (development, property or not‑for‑profit experience desirable)
- A collaborative leadership style aligned with Habitat’s values
