We’re looking for a compassionate and reliable Caregiver to join our Freeman Court team in Te Awamutu.
This role is about more than providing support. You’ll help create a safe, welcoming, and respectful environment where older people can maintain their independence, wellbeing, and quality of life.

Freeman Court is our independent living community in Te Awamutu, providing affordable accommodation, meals, companionship, and 24-hour onsite support for older people. Residents enjoy the freedom of independent living while being part of a supportive and caring community.
The role
As a Caregiver, you will:
- Support residents to maintain their independence, dignity, and wellbeing.
- Assist with resident wellbeing checks and day-to-day support.
- Provide medication assistance within authorised procedures.
- Help maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment.
- Undertake cleaning, housekeeping, and laundry duties.
- Assist with meal service and resident activities where required.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to effective shift handovers.
- Participate in day, evening, weekend, and overnight shifts as rostered.
About you
You will ideally bring:
- Previous caregiving, aged care, healthcare, support work, or community support experience.
- A compassionate, respectful, and patient approach.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good observation, reporting, and record-keeping skills.
- A reliable and trustworthy work ethic.
- The ability to remain calm and respond appropriately in emergency situations.
- An understanding of resident dignity, privacy, and wellbeing.
- A current First Aid Certificate and/or aged care qualification (advantageous).
- The legal right to work in New Zealand.

This is a permanent part-time position working 32 hours per week. The role operates across a rotating roster which may include weekends, public holidays, and overnight shifts.
