About the Role:
As the Retail Marketing Specialist, you will play a key role in delivering impactful retail‑focused marketing across the New Zealand dealer network. You will act as the primary marketing point of contact for New Zealand dealers, support sales performance, and represent the New Zealand market within the wider ANZ marketing team.
This role connects national brand strategy with local dealer execution, ensuring marketing activity drives enquiries, showroom traffic, and sales while maintaining strong brand governance and consistency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute national and dealer retail marketing campaigns aligned to brand, sales, and go‑to‑market objectives, including launches and key retail moments.
- Translate national brand strategy into effective local and dealer‑level marketing campaigns, ensuring strong lead quality, showroom traffic, and conversion outcomes.
- Act as the primary marketing contact for the dealer network, providing guidance, ready‑to‑use assets, and hands‑on support for local area marketing execution.
- Manage Local Area Marketing (LAM) approvals and dealer spend, ensuring brand compliance, effective allocation of funds, and strong ROI.
- Work closely with Marketing and Communications Lead and digital and media agencies to ensure dealer activity aligns with national digital strategies and provides brand consistency.
- Provide guidance, best practice and hands-on support to dealers on local marketing execution.
- Monitor industry retail marketing trends to identify best practice amongst competing brands
- Ensure dealers are aligned with national campaigns and run Dealer Marketing briefings alongside the Marketing Communications Lead NZ.
- Analyse retail campaign performance and dealer marketing effectiveness.
- Coordinate press, demo, and event vehicle fleet requirements, including logistics, availability, and reporting, while collaborating cross‑functionally to support commercial priorities
Skills and Experience:
- 4+ years’ experience in marketing, with strong exposure to retail and dealer-based environments
- A degree in Business or marketing preferred, but not essential
- Automotive retail marketing experience preferred
- Proven experience translating national brand strategy into local execution
- Strong stakeholder management skills, particularly with sales-led teams
- Experience dealing with agencies and multiple campaigns simultaneously
- Strong commercial acumen and performance mindset
- Understanding of automotive retail cycles, launches and sales drivers
- Experience managing co-op or dealer incentive marketing programs
