We’re seeking an exceptional hospitality professional with proven experience leading teams in a multi-venue environment and delivering premium guest experiences. This is an exciting opportunity to shape culture, develop high-performing teams, and lead service excellence across one of New Zealand’s most iconic wine tourism destinations, encompassing restaurants, wine experiences, events, accommodation, and visitor offerings.
As our Hospitality leader, you’ll take a hands-on approach in guiding and supporting our hospitality teams across the venue. You’ll collaborate with senior leaders to ensure smooth day-to-day operations, outstanding guest experiences, and engaged, high-performing teams.
About the role
Operations
- Ensuring customer satisfaction through exceptional and consistent guest experience.
- Managing teams, rosters, labour budgets, and operational reporting.
- Supporting seasonal food and wine offerings with an eye for quality.
- Upholding strong compliance in health, safety, and food standards.
Guest Experience
- Ensuring exceptional service delivery across all venues.
- Championing service standards and continuous improvement.
- Driving innovation across hospitality offerings.
- Creating memorable experiences that reflect the Gibbston Valley brand.
Leadership & Culture
- Leading and supporting department managers and frontline teams.
- Coaching and mentoring department managers.
- Building leadership capability across teams.
- Supporting recruitment, succession planning, and employee development.
- Driving engagement and team performance.
- Maintaining a positive, team-first culture aligned with our values.
About you
- Significant leadership experience within premium hospitality, tourism, luxury accommodation, or food and beverage environments.
- Proven success managing multiple venues, departments, or service offerings simultaneously.
- A passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience managing labour costs, budgets, and operational performance.
- The ability to inspire, develop, and retain high-performing teams.
- Confidence operating in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A current Duty Manager’s Certificate and First Aid Certification. (Must have this already)
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, or a related field.
- Availability to work on weekends, public holidays, and some evenings as needed
