About The Role

As a Wealth Adviser (Mandarin Speaking), you’ll play a key role in growing Generate’s presence within New Zealand’s Mandarin-speaking community. This is a unique opportunity to help shape our strategy by building trusted relationships, developing strategic partnerships, strengthening our brand and connecting more people with Generate’s market-leading wealth solutions.

You will help clients achieve their financial goals by providing personalised investment advice and building long-term relationships based on trust. Working as part of our Private Wealth team, you’ll advise clients across Generate’s wealth offering, including KiwiSaver, Managed Funds and other investment solutions, delivering an exceptional client experience every step of the way.

In addition to the above, you will also be responsible for:

  • Providing personalised investment and wealth advice tailored to clients’ individual goals and circumstances.
  • Building and maintaining long-term relationships with new and existing clients through regular reviews and proactive engagement.
  • Developing new business opportunities through referrals, networking and professional relationships.
  • Building Generate’s profile within the Mandarin-speaking community through business development, strategic partnerships and community engagement.
  • Establishing strong relationships with accountants, lawyers and other referral partners.
  • Maintaining an active sales pipeline and ensuring Salesforce opportunities are kept up to date.
  • Working collaboratively across the business to continually enhance the client experience and Generate’s wealth proposition.
  • Delivering high-quality, compliant advice in accordance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is entrepreneurial, commercially minded and excited by the opportunity to establish and grow a new client base. You’ll have strong connections within the Mandarin-speaking community and enjoy creating opportunities through networking, relationship building and community engagement. By combining business development, brand awareness and high-quality financial advice, you’ll play an important role in expanding Generate’s reach while helping clients achieve their long-term financial goals.

More specific to the role, you will also have:

  • At least 3 years’ experience in wealth management, financial advice or a similar client-facing role.
  • New Zealand Certificate in Financial Services (Level 5 – Investment), or an equivalent qualification.
  • Fluency in Mandarin and English (spoken and written).
  • Experience working with high-net-worth clients and providing personalised financial advice.
  • An existing network within New Zealand’s Mandarin-speaking community and a proven ability to develop new business opportunities.
  • Strong understanding of the Financial Markets Conduct Act (FMCA) and Code of Professional Conduct.
  • Excellent relationship-building, communication and networking skills.
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach with strong commercial acumen.
  • Experience using Salesforce (experience with Omnimax and Adminis would be advantageous).
