Garage Project is a brewery based in Wellington, NZ, known for making unique and beautiful beers. About the role

Our Brewers take an active role in all aspects of production and packaging at Garage Project – working as part of a dynamic team to follow best practice in the production of exceptional beer. We pay rigorous attention to all aspects of quality control, keeping accurate up-to-date records and maintaining a clean and safe working environment, to ensure a quality end product for our customers. The role will involve cellar work and the safe handling of product, all aspects of brewing the product, and providing support across the production process including packaging at times.

About you

You’re a Brewer with solid experience in the brewing industry. You can demonstrate an expert understanding of the entire brewing process, from fermentation and cellaring, to stock monitoring, brewing to recipes, keeping a clean environment and everything in between.

In particular, you will bring the following:

  • Around 3+years professional brewery experience
  • Brewing qualification (IBD or other) preferred
  • High level of experience with brewing on production sized brewhouse (20hl +) as well as extensive cellaring experience.
  • A good level of understanding in using brewing specific lab equipment
  • A clear understanding of key quality and spoilage issues in beer
  • A level of strength & stamina appropriate to the physically demanding nature of the role
  • Excellent work ethic, effective time management, and accurate record keeping
  • Effective teamwork, communication and interpersonal skills
  • NZ Forklift Licence (desired but not essential) 
  • Current, clean NZ drivers licence (desired but not essential)
