Quantity Surveying/Construction Management Lecturer
We are seeking a part-time lecturer to deliver the New Zealand Diploma in Construction (Level 6) programme – with strands in Quantity Surveying and Construction Management. This is an exciting opportunity to teach and mentor the next generation of professionals in the construction industry, many of whom will enter the industry with little or no prior experience.

About this role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi
As a lecturer, you will provide engaging quantity surveying and construction management industry related education, that supports learners to build strong technical knowledge and skills to progress confidently into industry roles.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing high-quality, industry-relevant teaching that aligns with approved curriculum and course outcomes.
- Marking and moderation assessments within required timeframes, to high academic standards.
- Confident use of the Moodle Learning Management System and MS Teams.
- Effective collaboration with colleagues on course content, ongoing evaluation and review and professional development.
- Providing learners with academic support and pastoral support, contributing to retention, engagement, and success.
We offer flexible delivery options including evenings and weekends, allowing you to balance teaching whilst working in the industry, if desired.

Skills and Experience | Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- A New Zealand recognised degree or higher qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management, or a closely related field.
- Strong New Zealand experience in quantity surveying and/or construction management.
- The ability to create an engaging and supportive learning environment for learners.
- Excellent technical skills and fully conversant with appropriate industry standard software (including Cost X) and professional practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and learners in a multi-cultural education environment
Preferred but not required:
- Previous tutoring, training, or tertiary teaching experience.
- A tertiary teaching qualification (e.g. NZ Certificate in Adult and Tertiary teaching) or willingness to undertake one.
