Quality Assurance Lead Full-Time | Pukekohe Branch

We are seeking a motivated and detail-driven Quality Assurance professional to support the delivery of our quality and food safety systems at our Pukekohe Branch. Working alongside a senior onsite leader, you will play a key role in maintaining compliance, supporting continuous improvement, and helping to build a strong food safety culture across the site.

 

Operating within the fresh produce industry, this role offers great exposure to a dynamic, high-volume environment where product quality, freshness, and integrity are critical. It’s an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build on their QA experience and grow into a more senior role over time.

 

The Role As Quality Assurance Lead, you will: • Support the day-to-day management of site quality assurance and food safety systems (including taking the lead in Pre-ops inspections) • Oversee compliance with HACCP, GMP, MPI, and customer standards • Help coordinate internal and external audits, including close-out of non-conformances • Take a leading role in the management of customer complaints, non-conformances, and corrective actions • Maintain product specifications, SOPs, and quality documentation • Assist with environmental monitoring, product testing, and verification activities • Ensure accurate traceability and QA record keeping • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across quality and food safety • Support training across food safety, hygiene, and QA processes • Work closely with Production and Operations to embed quality into daily activities • Assist with Health & Safety compliance and site standards

 

About You You are a hands-on and proactive QA professional who enjoys being on the floor and working closely with operations. You’re looking for the next step in your career and are keen to develop your skills in a supportive environment.

You will bring: • A solid foundation in Quality & Food Safety, with working knowledge of HACCP and GMP • Exposure to audits and compliance requirements • Strong attention to detail and a practical, problem-solving mindset • Good communication skills with the ability to engage and support teams • A willingness to learn and take on increasing responsibility over time • A continuous improvement mindset and positive attitude

 

Background & Experience • 5 years’ experience in a QA or food safety role within food production, manufacturing, or fresh produce • Exposure to HACCP-based food safety programs and GMP environments • Audit exposure (customer, regulatory, or third-party) is advantageous • Experience working in fast-paced or high-volume environments preferred
