About
the role | Mō te tūranga mahi
This is a
Wellington-based role, with flexible hybrid working arrangements
available.
As a Competence Assessment Advisor, you’ll play a vital role in
supporting engineers through the competence assessment process, helping them
achieve professional recognition and connect with their profession.
You’ll work closely with applicants, assessors and internal teams
to ensure assessments are completed efficiently, fairly, and to a high
standard. You’ll also help improve the overall assessment experience and
contribute to continuous improvement across the process
Main duties will involve:
- Providing guidance
and support to engineers throughout the assessment process
- Responding to
applicant queries and helping navigate requirements
- Reviewing and
validating applications, providing constructive feedback
- Coordinating and
supporting assessment panels
- Ensuring quality
and consistency of assessment reports
- Building strong
relationships with assessors, industry representatives and stakeholders
- Supporting seminars
and engagement activities to promote the assessment process
Who we’re looking for | Tā mātou e kimi nei
You’re organised, people-focused, and enjoy helping others
navigate complex processes with clarity and care.
We’re looking for someone proactive, detail-oriented, and keen to
learn. You’ll be comfortable juggling multiple priorities, asking questions
when needed, and building positive relationships with colleagues, applicants,
and assessors.
To be successful, you’ll bring at least two years’ experience in
an office-based role. This foundation will enable you to confidently manage
competing priorities, communicate with a wide range of stakeholders, and work
independently when required.
If you enjoy variety, have a keen eye for detail, and take pride
in supporting people through processes, we’d love to hear from you.
You’ll bring:
- Strong written and
verbal communication skills, with a focus on plain English
- Experience in a
service-oriented or professional environment
- The ability to
manage multiple priorities with accuracy and attention to detail
- Confidence working
with a wide range of stakeholders
- Sound judgement and
problem-solving skills
- A proactive,
collaborative approach
- A tertiary qualification in a relevant area,
or equivalent proven experience.
- Knowledge of
engineering and technology and/or previous experience working in a similar
environment, would be advantageous.
