At EMM, we talk about purpose, not ‘work’

We’re looking for an experienced ecologist with a passion for botany and leading interesting and diverse projects in Queensland.

At EMM, we believe that a sustainable future is achievable and we proactively pursue opportunities to help our clients and the community make it a reality. We were incredibly proud to be recognised once again this year as the Best Provider of ESG Services: Built & Natural Environment Consulting in the 2026 Client Choice Awards. Unlike many industry awards, the Client Choice Awards are judged solely on client feedback – that’s what makes this recognition so meaningful.

Our experienced team of passionate Ecologists work a diverse range of projects – right now, we’re working on some of the cleanest and greenest renewables projects in the country, creating opportunities for our Ecologists to shape groundbreaking ecology solutions and biodiversity offsets.

Here’s what you can expect and count on in your new role as a Senior Ecologist with EMM:

  • You’ll work with leaders and peers who are truly present and invested in your growth
  • You’ll be part of a highly experienced Ecology community from day one, who are leading the way in the industry
  • Your work will see you leading ecology field surveys, preparing high quality reports and proposals as well as building excellent project management skills, supporting the delivery of significant projects across multiple sectors
  • The opportunity to inspire and play a key part in the development journey of our diverse team of Ecologists
  • The autonomy and flexibility to work the way that works best for you and the support you need to balance your interests and priorities beyond work
  • This is hybrid position that would combine home working with team collaboration days at our Brisbane office
  • The role will require field work across the State

Here’s what you’ll bring:

  • 7 years plus relevant post graduate experience, preferably gained within an ecological consultancy environment
  • Extensive experience with planning and leading ecological field surveys and plant/botany identification skills
  • Solid experience undertaking regional ecosystem surveys and BioCondition assessments
  • Ability to research, prepare documentation and draw conclusions to support recommendations for review
  • A degree in ecology or a related discipline
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills
  • The ability to manage multiple projects effectively
