Streetscape Environmental worker – Wellington

We are looking for a motivated Streetscape Environmental Worker – to join our Wellington based team.

About the role

You will be part of a team maintaining our clients’ green spaces and/or street environments.

Tasks will be varied and will include:

• Emptying litter bins from roads, the CBD, town centres, minor shopping areas & bus shelters
• Collection of bagged refuse and recycling.
• Collection and disposal of loose litter from footpaths, kerb and channel and other areas as required.
• Removal of leaf fall and other detritus from cesspits
• Work in with road sweeper staff to manually sweep traffic islands, and other hard to reach areas.
• Cleaning of street furniture and other council assets as directed.
• Remove graffiti on litter bins.
• Cleaning of council assets as directed.
• Manual Sweeping
• Report back on litter bins requiring maintenance.
• Provide cover for sweeper, scrubber and compactor staff absences.

Hours of work will be 4.30 am to 1.00 pm Monday to Friday with overtime when required.

About you

The successful person will have:

• Experience in a similar role, or willingness to learn.
• Full Class 1 driver’s license with manual experience
• Be physically fit and mobile, able to do physical work,
• Have a commitment to health and safety.
