Dogtainers Pet Transport is an internationally renowned Animal Transport company. With offices throughout New Zealand, Australia, and abroad – it is a dynamic, profitable and fast-growing business. We specialize in the Domestic (Australia and New Zealand) and International transportation (including Exports & Imports) of family pets, rare & specialty animals and genetic material.

About the Role

The Booking Administrator/Driver is responsible for the safe transport of pets between airports, residence, office locations and relevant appointments. Ensuring all pet bookings are accurately completed in full and that the animal’s welfare is the upmost priority at all times.

The Role

  • As the face of the business, the Booking Administrator/Driver is required to present in a professional manner to meet clients, airline, animal boarding and veterinary staff.
  • Responsible for planning and booking the finer details of an animal’s transport requirements with external suppliers and all documentation is completed accurately and in full.
  • Lodgment of paperwork & permits to AQIS as well as assisting with health checks at a veterinary clinic.
  • Ensuring the safe transport of pets between airports, residence, office locations and relevant appointments.
  • Ensure all pets are handled correctly and that their welfare is the upmost priority at all times.
  • Cleaning of crates and kennels and therefore a high level of hygiene and knowledge of cleaning, caring and feeding of animals is preferred.
  • Requires lifting from 2-30kg and working with a variety of animal species, therefore ability to work with animals and allergies must be considered.
  • Working hours could range from as early as 4am or finish at 10pm or later as flights can be delayed or cancelled, so flexibility is a must.

Successful applicants will:

  • Strong administrative capability in Office365
  • Experience with CRM’s, ideally Monday.
  • Will be required to pass security screening and gain ASIC clearance for airport access.
  • Hold a current New Zealand Driver’s License (essential)
  • Immaculate driving record with an ability to drive and maneuver vans safely. Experience driving vans/larger vehicles is highly regarded.
  • Ability to easily navigate around Auckland and greater New Zealand
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills and a demonstrated ability to function as a team player
  • Provide a premium level of customer service and professional presentation,
  • Proven working experience (minimum one year) in animal care, operations, logistics, freight forwarding and/or relocation industry is highly regarded.
  • Animal handling experience an advantage
  • Knowledge of freight industry and logistics advantageous
  • Understand the value of empathy towards people and animals
  • Ability to work weekends and sometimes within short notice
  • Self-motivated and positive approach to change.
  • Willingness to go the extra mile when required.
