This is not your traditional hospitality role. 

We’re introducing a new role at Drifter – one that exists to turn great stays into unforgettable experiences. 

Drifter is built around connection – creating spaces where people come together, share stories, and feel part of something. As we grow, we’re placing more focus on what people experience when they’re here: the moments, the interactions, and the people that make a stay memorable. 

This role has been created to bring that to life on the ground. It sits at the centre of the guest experience, shaping the day-to-day feel of the space and building a genuine sense of community. 

As a Drifter Dream Host, you’ll help shape that experience in real time.

On any given day, you might: 

  • Welcome guests and turn arrival moments into real conversations 
  • Act as the on-ground culture carrier, bringing the Drifter brand to life through how you show up, connect, and engage 
  • Bring people together – introducing guests, reading the room, and creating a natural sense of connection 
  • Host events, activations, and social moments, building energy and driving participation across the space 
  • Share local recommendations that feel personal and considered, not scripted 
  • Bring your “thing” to life – whether that’s yoga, music, food, art or something else – and turn it into an experience guests genuinely want to be part of 
  • Capture and share content that reflects what’s really happening on-site and how Drifter shows up 
  • Welcome new team members on their first day, showing them the space, making introductions, and helping them find their place, while reinforcing the Drifter way of doing things 

This role is all about presence and connection. You’re not behind a desk – you’re out in the space, creating energy, building relationships, and shaping the guest experience beyond the transaction. 

Who we’re looking for 

We’re not hiring based on traditional experience. 

You might come from hospitality, events, or travel. You might be front of house in a restaurant or bar, a tour guide, a performer, or a creative. Or you might not fit neatly into any of those boxes.

We’re looking for people who naturally connect with others, the kind of person who can walk into any situation and make people feel at ease quickly. You read the energy, know when to step in, and bring people together without forcing it. 

You’re proactive and self-driven. You don’t wait to be told – you notice opportunities and follow through. 

You care about people. You handle situations with empathy, stay grounded when things get busy, and respond in a way that feels human, not transactional. 

You bring ideas. Whether it’s an event, an interaction, or something spontaneous, you turn simple moments into something people remember. 

You lead through how you show up. You set the tone, influence others without needing authority, and represent the brand in a way that feels natural and consistent. 

If you’ve ever made a “5-minute friend”, you’ll likely feel at home in a role like this.
