Key responsibilities include:
- End-to-end recruitment, particularly for hard-to-fill healthcare roles
- Supporting leaders with employment relations, performance, and employee matters
- Providing advice on employment legislation, policies, and people processes
- Coaching and mentoring managers to build confidence and capability in people leadership
- Delivering training and development on employment relations, performance management, and people practices
- Preparing employment agreements and HR documentation
- Managing onboarding and offboarding processes
- Maintaining employee records and HR systems
- Supporting remuneration, policy, and compliance activities
- Contributing to workforce and leadership initiatives
- Leveraging AI and digital tools to improve efficiency, reporting, document preparation, and process delivery
🌿 What we’re looking for
You’ll thrive in this role if you:
- Have several years’ experience in HR advisory, recruitment, or generalist HR roles
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- Have sound knowledge of New Zealand employment law and employment relations practice
- Are confident coaching leaders through people-related challenges
- Enjoy facilitating training and developing leadership capability
- Are highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities
- Have strong attention to detail and take pride in accurate documentation
- Are comfortable with both advisory work and day-to-day HR administration
- Communicate confidently and professionally
- Are adaptable, practical, and solutions-focused
- Are confident using HR systems such as Employment Hero and Microsoft 365
- Are committed to respectful and culturally safe practice
💙 Why Join Coastal Medical?

- A team that cares – You’ll be supported, trusted, and genuinely respected
