Warehouse Team Lead

Our Opportunity

We are looking for a Warehouse Team Lead to join our Warehouse team at the Champion Flour Milling Christchurch facility on a permanent full-time basis where we manufacture flour, pre-mixes, and specialty products.

This is an entry level leadership opportunity reporting directly to the Warehouse Manager.

Your hours of work will be Monday – Friday 7.30 am to 4.00pm and you will be responsible & direct activities for the day and afternoon shifts.

As a Warehouse Team Lead you will have a key focus on checking, receipting, and recording all product and stock movements in the branch whilst ensuring a high level of service to ensure customers’ needs are met to find the product they need. This is a fast-paced physical role where your skills and experience driving a forklift and servicing customers will come in handy within our site areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead our warehouse staff across daily operations
• Conduct daily pre-starts and toolbox talks
• Ensure health & safety performance is always top of mind
• Manage daily stock movements and inventory accuracy
• Oversee container loading and unloading activities
• Operate forklift and reach truck safely and efficiently
• Execute and oversee receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and shipment confirmations in D365
• Monitor workflow, productivity, and picking accuracy
• Maintain warehouse cleanliness and operational standards
• Support training, coaching, and development of team members

Essential Requirements

• Only New Zealand citizens, permanent residents, or candidates currently living and legally entitled to work in New Zealand are encouraged to apply
• Previous experience as a Warehouse Team Leader or similar role
• Must have experience with Forklift & Reach Truck
• Must have experience with container loading and unloading and truck loading and unloading is essential
• Strong computer skills and experience using warehouse systems or ERP systems (D365 experience highly regarded)
• Good organisational and problem-solving skills
• Good understanding of warehouse and dispatch operations
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Positive attitude with a hands-on approach
