Our Opportunity:

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Fitter to join our manufacturing team in Christchurch, Canterbury. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of our production machinery and equipment. This permanent, full-time position offers an opportunity to contribute to our commitment to quality and reliability in our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure Health & Safety practices are upheld in all aspects of the role
  • Carry out work in compliance with all Food Safety requirements
  • Utilise the MEX preventative maintenance system effectively
  • Support the Engineering Team Lead across all operational activities
  • Work closely with operations staff to achieve production targets
  • Perform planned and reactive maintenance, applying sound engineering practices
  • Organise and complete routine maintenance tasks efficiently
  • Proactively minimise downtime through effective problem-solving
  • Comply with company risk management and environmental policies
  • Respond to call-outs in a timely and practical manner when required
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and continuously improve

About You

  • Trade-qualified Fitter & Turner or similar (Millwright preferred)
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Maintenance Fitter in manufacturing, production, or FMCG environments
  • Fabrication experience in a processing environment is advantageous
  • Enthusiastic, energetic, and solutions-focused mindset
  • Strong communication and technical skills
  • Ability to prioritise breakdowns to maintain operational continuity
  • Flexibility to work occasional weekends when required
  • Competent computer skills MEWP, general work permit issuer, confined space, working at height certifications (Optional)

Working Hours

  • Monday to Thursday: 10:00am – 6:30pm
  • Friday: 7:30am – 3:30pm
  • Minimum 40 hours per week
