Part Time Learner Coordinator Required!
Capital Training is one of the largest providers of fees free foundation education in the Wellington Region. We offer a large and varied programme of further education qualification courses and employment preparation training as well as extensive community and work-based provision. We are seeking a Learner Co-Ordinator/Receptionist for our Upper Hutt training centre. This is a part time, fixed term position, to start ASAP until June 2027.

An opportunity has arisen for a warm and friendly receptionist/learner co-ordinator to join our Upper Hutt team. The successful applicant will become our first point of contact for all education enquiries and provide valuable assistance to learners and colleagues.
Applicants must possess excellent communication skills, personify a warm and friendly nature and be incredibly organised. While having a ‘no job is too big or too small’ attitude, the successful applicant will work from Monday to Friday, 9.00am – 2.00pm (perfect for those school drop-off and pick-ups).
The Upper Hutt team requires a person who will embrace this position. With enquiries ranging from potential students, clients and other stakeholder contacts, our learner co-ordinator/receptionist will need to hold extensive knowledge about the services we provide and communicate these in a professional and helpful manner, while organising your other daily duties. This role will involve interviewing potential candidates and pre-enrolling them, as well as occasional classroom supervision when the tutor is not there, working with learners to achieve their NCEA Literacy and Numeracy credits, so comfortability in that environment is a must!
The ideal candidate will have:
- Clear and confident communication skills with a wide range of people
- The ability to utilise Microsoft Office programmes including Word, Excel and Email
- Familiarity with the use of online databases
- Excellent time management and planning skills
- The ability to problem solve and think on your feet
- Prior experience in an educational setting would be a bonus
- A passion for working with youth
