Marketing Manager

communications and brand alongside supporting our advocacy outcomes and driving
efficiency and scale through the use of technology and AI.
Drawing on insights, data, technology and AI, you’ll help
ensure Business Canterbury remains the first choice for business support,
connection, capability building, and advocacy.
As our new Marketing Manager, you’ll be responsible
for leading the development and delivery of our marketing and communications
strategy, growing awareness and strong engagement across our membership and
services, strengthening our brand presence, and helping amplify the voice of
Canterbury business. You will also like the mix of strategic and operational
hands on delivery.

What You’ll Do
Marketing Strategy & Growth
Lead the development and execution of our marketing and
communications strategy, ensuring strong member acquisition, retention, and
engagement across our diverse service offering. Drive campaigns that deliver
measurable growth and support organisational goals.
Communications & Content Leadership
Oversee our integrated communications programme, ensuring
content is relevant, timely, targeted, and engaging across all channels. Lead
the planning and delivery of marketing campaigns, eDMs, social media, and
content initiatives that strengthen our connection with members and customers.
Advocacy, Media & Public Relations
Work alongside our Chief Executive and Head of Advocacy and
Strategy to amplify the voice of Canterbury business through media engagement,
submissions, thought leadership, presentations, and strategic communications.
Help position Business Canterbury as a trusted and influential advocate for the
region’s business community.
Brand & Digital Presence
Champion the Business Canterbury brand across all
touchpoints, ensuring consistency, quality, and impact. Oversee website
content, marketing collateral, and digital channels to ensure they reflect our
value proposition and support organisational objectives.
AI, Innovation & Business Efficiency
Identify opportunities to leverage technology and AI to
improve marketing effectiveness, increase efficiency, and scale organisational
impact. Lead change initiatives, process improvements, and capability building
within the marketing team.
Leadership & Performance
Lead and develop a high-performing marketing team, foster
collaboration across the organisation, manage budgets and performance
reporting, and ensure marketing activity is aligned to strategic priorities and
delivers measurable outcomes.

Who You Are
You’re an experienced and commercially minded marketing
leader who understands how to connect strategy with execution. You’re equally
comfortable developing long-term plans, creating compelling content, building
relationships, analysing data, leading people and an active user of technology
and AI to drive efficiencies and improve outcomes.
You’ll bring:
- At
least five years’ experience in senior marketing and communications roles.
- Proven
leadership experience with the ability to inspire, coach, and develop
high-performing teams.
- Strong
experience in digital marketing, content creation, and communications that
achieve meaningful engagement and results.
- Experience
supporting advocacy, public relations, media engagement, or stakeholder
communications.
- Demonstrated
success using technology and AI tools to improve efficiency, scale, and
marketing effectiveness.
- Strong
analytical capability and experience using customer insights, data, and
reporting to inform decision-making and growth initiatives.
- Excellent
communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to
influence and engage a wide range of stakeholders.
- Strong
commercial acumen and an understanding of what drives business success.
