About the role

 

The Learning and Events Administrator will be the first point of contact for our training and events customers, ensuring that their customer experience is exceptional.

 

This is a pivotal and proactive role responsible for the smooth administration and delivery of Business Canterbury’s broad portfolio of on-site, private, and online training workshops and events.

 

The ideal candidate should be extremely organised, detail-oriented, and enjoy working within a fast-paced customer-centric role.

 

The candidate should also be self-driven, with excellent written and verbal communication skills and a passion to exceed customer expectations. The role will offer diversity and challenge while delivering a great customer experience that results in strong member engagement with our services.

 

Key areas of responsibility include:

·Providing excellent customer service as the first point of contact for all training and event queries.

·Administrating the training programme, including registrations, scheduling, facilitator liaison, and management of the training calendar.

·Maintaining and updating the Learning Management System (LMS) to ensure workshops, templates, and learner communications are accurate and up to date.

·Maintaining learning resources, including training materials, workshop resources, online course content, and learner communications.

·Managing room bookings and upkeep of events and training spaces including low-level physical activity such as setting up and packing down tables and catering, presentations, IT (and any other required) equipment, kitchen and service areas.

·Maintain day‑to‑day relationships with customers, facilitators, and learning partners.

·Providing light reception support as required and supporting Business Canterbury events as needed.

 

The successful candidate will:

 

·Be highly organised with strong administration and exceptional customer service skills

·Have experience in learning and development, education, events, business services, or a related environment

·Be passionate about continuous learning and development and achieving positive outcomes for businesses and individuals

·Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.

·Have experience using digital platforms (ideally a Learning or Event Management System and CRM).

·Have experience managing or editing content, ideally with experience using tools such as Moodle, Canva, PowerPoint, Articulate Rise, or a willingness to learn.

·Bring a growth mindset, adaptability, and curiosity about new technologies that enhance learning experiences.

·Experience in programme or event administration.
