The Opportunity 

We are currently seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join our Day Ward team.  

 

The Day Ward offers surgical and medical day stay procedures, including dental, gynaecology, orthopaedics, general surgery, urology and plastics.  We provide Haematology treatment and have two endoscopy theatres offering a range of services. 

 

Reporting to the Charge Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering pre and post op care and pre and post endoscopy care.  If you have Haematology experience, you will be responsible for providing Haematology treatments and working across other Day Ward areas. 

 

To be successful in this role you will: 

  • Have at least 3 years surgical or Haematology experience; 
  • Demonstrate clear and professional communication skills; 
  • Have the ability to remain calm and collected in a high-pressure situation; 
  • Exhibit excellent time management and problem-solving skills, and an organised and methodical approach; 
  • Understand that the key to success lies in our team operating in collaboration with one another and you will have the ability and disposition to enhance cooperation and teamwork with a patient centred approach;  
  • Have a current New Zealand Nursing Registration (APC); and 
  • Be able to work rostered and rotating shifts, and be prepared to work in other areas of the hospital within the Patient Services team dependent on workload and clinical acuity.
