The Opportunity
Calling all Health Care Assistants wanting to join a fast-paced, supportive hospital setting. Join our 70 bed Inpatient Wards (Kea and Tui) as a Health Care Assistant to support patients under a range of specialties.
The role of the Health Care Assistant is responsible for supporting patients with personal cares, meals, and mobility while assisting nurses in delivering exceptional post-operative care to aid in recovery.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have previous experience as a Health Care Assistant; preferably in orthopaedics or other hospital level settings;
- Demonstrate compassion and attentiveness, delivering personal care that upholds patient dignity, comfort and promotes overall well-being;
- Adapt well to changing demands, work promptly reporting any concerns or shifts in patient condition to the nursing team;
- Communicate clearly and respectfully, engaging professionally and warmly with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams;
- Uphold high standards of cleanliness and safety, ensuring a well-maintained environment through diligent hygiene practices and strict adherence to infection control protocols;
- Show cultural awareness and inclusivity, respecting the diverse backgrounds and needs of patients and their families;
- Bring a positive and proactive attitude, offering a warm personality, strong work ethic, and a genuine desire to support others.
