customer-centricity, and continuous improvement. We are committed to fostering
an environment where our employees can grow both personally and professionally.
At Bluechip, we believe in nurturing talent, offering career development
opportunities, and celebrating individual achievements within a collaborative
team environment.
Role Background
Want to build a career in technology sales? We’re looking for a
motivated, commercially minded Business Development Manager to join our New
Zealand sales team, and we’ll back you to grow into it.
This is a great opportunity for someone who loves creating
opportunities, building relationships, and working in a fast-paced tech
environment. This is very much an outbound role: you’ll travel to meet and
engage prospects and partners throughout the country, while consistently
hitting the phones to generate new business. You’ll play a key role in growing
our market share, winning new business, and getting our vendors’ solutions into
the hands of more customers.
You’ll have a dedicated focus on a strategic, co-funded vendor program,
while also working across other vendor solutions and growth initiatives. That
means broad exposure across the IT channel, plenty of variety, and the chance
to learn the business from the ground up alongside experienced colleagues.
Day to day, you’ll be out on the road meeting prospects and partners
across the country and working the phones to generate new business, while
spotting opportunities, supporting campaigns, and helping move deals through
the pipeline. It’s a role for someone who’s proactive, curious, and excited to
build their career in tech, whether you’re already in sales or ready to take
your first step into it.
Core responsibilities
- Take
ownership of growth across your assigned vendor lines, including a
dedicated co-funded program.
- Hunt
for net-new business: find new customers and uncover projects, refresh cycles,
and rollout opportunities.
- Build
and maintain a healthy pipeline through consistent outbound calling
and face-to-face customer engagement.
- Build
strong relationships with new and existing channel partners, travelling to
meet them face to face throughout the country, to grow their engagement
and sales.
- Work
closely with the Vendor Manager on growth plans, pricing support, and
hitting revenue and margin goals.
- Support
quarterly campaigns and go-to-market activity that lift vendor visibility
and generate leads.
- Keep
your pipeline and forecasts accurate in the CRM, and share regular updates
with the team.’
- Maintain
high levels of physical and virtual engagement across the country
You are
You’re motivated, curious, and driven to achieve, the kind of person who’s
energised by hitting goals and growing as you go.
You bring a growth mindset: you’re humble, open to feedback,
willing to learn from mistakes, and hungry to win. You’re proactive and happy
taking ownership of your territory and priorities.
You’re a strong relationship builder with excellent
communication skills and a natural ability to engage with a wide range of
stakeholders, from internal teams to customers.
Maybe you’ve already had a taste of sales or business development or
maybe you’re early in your career and ready to dive in. Either way, you enjoy
the challenge of finding opportunities and making things happen.
You thrive in fast-paced environments, do your best work when given the
freedom to shape your own path, and you always do right by your colleagues and
customers.
You bring real energy and enthusiasm to everything you do, and it comes
across in person and over the phone. This isn’t a role for someone laid-back;
it’s for someone who’s all-in. You’re here to build a long-term career, not
bounce between roles, and you’re ready to invest in yourself and in the
business to see real success.
If you love the idea of hunting for new opportunities, working with customers,
and growing
with a team that values accountability, learning, and momentum, this
could be the role for you.
