About the Role

Reporting to the Project Lead and working closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, and the wider commercial team, the Quantity Surveyor will provide professional quantity surveying and estimating, with precast and concrete expertise across multiple commercial construction projects. You will lead cost planning, contract administration, and financial management while mentoring junior team members and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Cost Estimation & Financial Management

• Prepare accurate cost estimates through detailed quantity take‑offs and comprehensive labour and material analysis
• Analyse production costs and maintain up‑to‑date cost databases
• Collaborate with procurement to achieve cost‑effective sourcing and value optimisation

Contract Management & Commercial Oversight

• Lead negotiations with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers
• Manage contractual documentation including, Sub contractor agreements, progress claims, variations, and final accounts
• Ensure compliance with contractual, legal, and industry standards

Project Delivery & Budget Control

• Monitor and manage project budgets, cash flow, and cost forecasts
• Provide regular cost reporting and commercial advice to senior management
• Proactively identify, mitigate, and resolve financial and contractual risks
• Liaise with and monitor subcontractor performance and manage financial accounts

Team Leadership & Stakeholder Communication

• Work collaboratively within a close‑knit project team
• Represent BG Cooke Construction Ltd professionally in all project communications
• Assist with commercial liaison with clients, consultants, and subcontractors
