About the role 

Permanent | Part-time (0.6 FTE) | Melbourne CBD (Hybrid, open to other locations) 

This is a unique opportunity to contribute your lived and living experience in a role that genuinely shapes how the College works. 

As the Lived and Living Experience Senior Adviser (Consumer), you’ll help embed consumer perspectives across the organisation, supporting meaningful engagement, co-design, and collaboration in our work. 

You’ll work closely alongside our Lived and Living Experience Senior Adviser (Carer), bringing complementary perspectives to strengthen outcomes and ensure balanced representation of consumer and carer voices. 

Melbourne Head Office is the preferred location for this role due to the relationship-based nature of the work, operating in a hybrid model. However, we are open to considering applicants from other locations, ideally connected to one of our offices in NSW, WA, Brisbane or Wellington, NZ to support collaboration and onboarding. Please note that this role is not suited to fully remote arrangements. 

What you’ll be doing 

  • Co-lead supporting the implementation of the Lived and Living Experience Strategy together with the Lived and Living Experience Advisor (Carer) across the College  
  • Engaging and recruiting people with lived experience as advisors, committee members and partners  
  • Building relationships with advocacy groups and key stakeholders across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand, including working with our community collaboration committee 
  • Supporting staff and members to strengthen how they work with lived experience perspectives  
  • Helping shape processes that embed consumer feedback into decision making  
  • Contributing to a culturally safe, trauma-informed and inclusive environment

What you’ll bring

  • Identifies as a person with personal lived or living experience
  • Expertise in project or programme management  
  • Experience working from a lived experience perspective or supporting others to do so  
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders  
  • A collaborative mindset and confidence working both independently and as part of a team
