About the Role:

Attach2 is a leading manufacturer of excavator attachments based in Masterton. Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Painter who will primarily be responsible for painting, while also assisting with the returns process, dispatch, and model spec work when painting workload allows. 

This is a full-time, hands-on role where quality, teamwork, and attitude matter just as much as technical skill.

Primary Responsibility – Painting 

  • Preparing surfaces (sanding, taping, masking) 
  • Hanging products and moving them into the paint booth 
  • Applying paint to a high and consistent standard 
  • Ensuring finished products meet Attach2 quality expectations 
  • Cleaning and maintaining paint equipment and work area  
  • Taking ownership of paint quality so finished products meet standards first time, every time. 

Secondary Responsibilities (Between Painting Jobs) 

Dispatch Support: 

  • Final quality checks before products are dispatched 
  • Packing and securing products correctly 
  • Ensuring dispatch documentation is accurate 
  • Supporting on-time, in-full delivery targets (DIFOT) 

Model Spec / Assembly Support: 

  • Installing spacers and completing customer-specific requirements 
  • Welding ID tags where required 
  • Completing small assembly tasks 
  • Function testing hydraulic products for leaks 

Returns & General Support: 

  • Receive and tag returned items on arrival 
  • Record and track returns with photos and notes 
  • Assess item condition and identify required rework 
  • Update progress until the item meets quality standards 

What We’re Looking For 

  • Interest in painting or hands-on manufacturing (training can be provided) 
  • Willingness to learn and produce a high standard of workmanship 
  • Good attention to detail and pride in quality work 
  • Physically fit and comfortable handling steel products (up to ~25kg) 
  • Team player with a positive, can‑do attitude and strong work ethic 
  • Takes ownership and sees jobs through to completion  
  • Comfortable taking ownership of work, raising issues early, and seeing jobs through without being chased. 

Nice to Have (Not Essential) 

  • Painting or warehouse experience 
  • Forklift license 
  • Experience in dispatch or assembly roles
