AS Colour is a global apparel brand built on quality, sustainability and doing things right. From our headquarters in West Auckland, we’ve grown into an international business with operations across New Zealand, Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom and Europe.

Our Finance team plays a critical role in supporting that growth, providing financial stewardship, commercial insight and operational excellence across the business.

We’re looking for a technically strong Financial Accountant to join our team. This is a hands-on role offering broad exposure across financial reporting, compliance, tax, audit, systems and business partnering. You’ll take ownership of key finance processes while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced, growing organisation.

About the Role

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you’ll have primary responsibility for the financial operations of AS Colour Ltd (NZ) while supporting the wider Group finance function.

Reporting & Month-End

  • Own the month-end close process, including general ledger reconciliations and reporting deliverables.
  • Prepare monthly management reports and review financial performance.
  • Analyse monthly P&L results and provide commentary to support decision-making.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities.

Budgeting

  • Lead the annual operating expense budget process.
  • Partner with department leaders to gather inputs, challenge assumptions and consolidate budgets for Finance leadership.

Tax & Compliance

  • Prepare and lodge monthly GST and quarterly FBT returns.
  • Support income tax compliance requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with NZ IFRS and New Zealand tax obligations.

Operations & Systems

  • Review and approve supplier invoices through Esker, maintaining strong financial controls.
  • Manage the fixed asset register, including depreciation, disposals and reconciliations.
  • Provide support to payroll processing and compliance activities as required.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls and efficiencies across the finance function.

Audit & Governance

  • Lead the annual external audit process from planning through to completion.
  • Coordinate with auditors, prepare supporting documentation and manage audit queries.
  • Act as the key point of contact to ensure a smooth and timely audit process.

What We’re Looking For

We’re after someone who combines strong technical accounting capability with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.

  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
  • CAANZ (or equivalent) qualification preferred.
  • Big 4 experience preferred.
  • Approximately 6+ years’ total accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a commercial environment.
  • Strong technical accounting, reporting and compliance knowledge.
  • Experience working with ERP systems and intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
  • Exposure to ERP implementations, particularly Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, would be advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships across the business and with external stakeholders.
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Permanent legal right to live and work in New Zealand.
