Welcome to the Senior Platform Engineer Role
This is a key hands-on role reporting to the Engineering Team Lead, where you will design, govern, and build the foundational infrastructure that powers Arlo’s SaaS platform.
As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will act as both an architect and a hands-on contributor. You’ll define secure, scalable infrastructure, establish standards, and create a seamless “path to production” for Stream-Aligned Teams across the company.
You’ll work closely with SRE, engineers, and product teams to reduce friction, improve developer experience, and ensure the platform enables fast, reliable, and secure delivery.
What You’ll Be Doing (Your Impact):
Your primary focus will be designing and evolving the platform infrastructure, improving developer experience, and ensuring secure, reliable delivery at scale.

Infrastructure Design & Architecture: Design and deliver core platform infrastructure including networking, container orchestration, and data architecture, ensuring alignment with platform standards.

Security & Compliance: Define and embed security-by-design practices, including secrets management, compliance frameworks, and secure infrastructure patterns.

CI/CD & Path to Production: Architect and govern CI/CD pipelines and deployment strategies, establishing a clear and efficient “golden path” to production.

Developer Experience (DevEx): Improve internal developer experience through tooling, documentation, and platform services that reduce friction and increase delivery speed.

Hands-On Platform Engineering: Build infrastructure and tooling using Terraform, automation scripts, and CI/CD templates while contributing to shared IaC codebases.

Standardisation & Enablement: Partner with SREs and engineering teams to drive consistency in platform practices, tooling, and architecture across the organisation.

Platform Ownership: Participate in on-call and take responsibility for the reliability, security, and architectural health of the platform.

Experience
- Extensive experience in a senior platform or infrastructure role in SaaS
- Proven expertise building scalable, secure AWS infrastructure
- Strong experience with Terraform and infrastructure automation
- Experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions)
Skills
- Strong understanding of platform security, compliance, and secrets management
- Ability to design scalable, secure, and efficient cloud architectures
- Strong problem-solving and analytical capability
- Clear communicator, able to influence across technical and non-technical teams
- Exposure to C#, TypeScript, JavaScript, or PowerShell is advantageous
