We are looking for a commercially savvy Business Development & Delivery Manager who thrives at the intersection of winning work and delivering it successfully.

This is not a traditional role as you will own the full lifecycle: from spotting opportunities and closing deals, through to leading complex project delivery and building long-term client partnerships.

This role suits someone who can confidently lead both business development and project delivery.

What you’ll be doing

Business Development & Growth

  • Build and manage a strong pipeline of opportunities
  • Identify new markets, clients, and partnerships
  • Lead client conversations through to proposal and close
  • Develop compelling proposals (scope, approach, pricing)
  • Drive revenue growth and consistently hit targets
  • Strengthen market presence through networking, content, and thought leadership
  • Grow existing accounts through upsell and long-term partnerships

Project Delivery

  • Lead complex projects end-to-end
  • Own scope, timelines, risks, and delivery outcomes
  • Manage stakeholders at all levels, including C-suite
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to a high standard
  • Communicate clearly and keep clients confident throughout

Client Ownership

  • Be the trusted advisor from first conversation to final delivery
  • Ensure seamless handover from sales to execution
  • Build strong, lasting relationships that drive repeat business

PMO Alignment

  • Deliver in line with PMO standards and governance
  • Collaborate closely with the PMO Director
  • Feed insights back into improving services and delivery capability

What success looks like

  • Strong pipeline and consistent revenue growth
  • High conversion rates and successful deal closure
  • Projects delivered successfully (time, scope, budget, quality)
  • High levels of client satisfaction and ongoing engagement

What you’ll bring

Applicants must have:

  • Qualification or work experience as follows: Tertiary qualified, preferably in a business, finance, project delivery or IT related discipline or minimum 3-5 years’ experience in business development, consulting, project delivery, client relationship management, commercial environments or related industries
  • Demonstrated experience building business opportunities, partnerships and client relationships
  • Experience engaging with multiple stakeholders, clients and suppliers and supporting commercial outcomes
  • Experience contributing to project, implementation or delivery environments
  • Strong commercial mindset and relationship-building capability
  • Ability to turn client needs into practical, outcome-driven solutions
  • High-quality written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong organizational, negotiation and problem-solving capability
  • Conflict resolution and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable

  • Experience within consulting, professional services, systems, project, infrastructure, engineering, payroll, technology or related business environments
  • Understanding of Agile, Hybrid or Waterfall delivery methodologies
  • PMP, Agile, PMI-ACP certification or similar
  • Experience with CRM, MS Project, PPM or collaboration platforms
  • Experience supporting implementation, transformation or client delivery initiatives
