Align delivers infrastructure projects that help bring places and communities to life. We are a fast-growing and well-respected multi-disciplinary consultancy providing a range of complementary services, including Crown-accredited land and property advisory services. We help central and local government agencies, utility providers and private clients across the country from our offices in Auckland, Hamilton, Tauranga, Hawke’s Bay, New Plymouth, Palmerston North, Wellington, Nelson and Christchurch. Sectors we operate in include roading, rail, housing, gas, electricity, three waters, education, recreation and more.
What You’ll do
Based in Northland, you will work across a range of significant infrastructure projects in Auckland, Northland and the surrounding regions, delivering great project and community outcomes for our clients. You will have great stakeholder relationship and property negotiation skills, excellent attention to detail and be a team player willing to contribute to the company and our culture.
Key tasks associated with the role will include:
- Lead landowner negotiations for the acquisition of land and property rights across a wide range of infrastructure projects, utilising the Public Works Act 1981 where required.
- Stakeholder engagement and public consultation.
- Property due diligence, property strategies and property cost estimation.
- Project Management of acquisitions.
- Collaborate as part of a wider property team to successfully deliver projects.
Skills, experience and qualities:
The role will be suited to either an experienced intermediate or a senior property professional who has the following skills and experience:
- A relevant property or law-related tertiary qualification.
- Property experience relevant to the role.
- Public Works Act and/or Local Government Act knowledge is an advantage.
- Experienced and confident in property negotiations.
- Ability to build a strong rapport with stakeholders and show empathy.
- Excellent report writing skills and attention to detail.
- Strong time management and organisational skills.
- Ability to multitask and run a number of projects concurrently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Project.
- Ability to problem solve and think creatively to find solutions.
- Current clean Full Drivers Licence.
