Description
The opportunity
Zenith Payments is an established Australian payments technology business providing specialised payment solutions across a range of industries and customer segments. Through its portfolio of sector focused brands, the business supports consumers, businesses and institutions across B2B payments, travel, education, childcare, residential and commercial property, rewards and other specialist markets.
The organisation is entering an important new phase. A significant organisational and leadership transformation is underway, with Sales and distribution being consolidated across the portfolio, Marketing being brought together as one enterprise wide function, and Product and Technology moving under a single executive leader. At the same time, Zenith Payments will shortly rebrand as Zen Pay, reflecting the new strategy, leadership team and future direction of the organisation.
We are hiring Product Managers to own our core verticals. Each Product Manager will take end to end ownership of one or more of our brands, which include B2B Pay, TravelPay, School EasyPay, ChildCare EasyPay, Kidsoft, Rental Rewards, Thoroughbred Payments and ZenPay, with verticals allocated based on experience and business priorities. This is a fast paced role with a genuine opportunity to redefine the product in markets where we already hold a strong position.
The role
The Product Manager is the end to end owner of their assigned verticals. The role owns each vertical’s strategy, product roadmap, performance and delivery. Working closely with Engineering, Risk and Compliance, Sales, Marketing and external partners, the Product Manager designs frictionless, highly compliant payment journeys for our merchants and their customers.
Key accountabilities
- Own the product strategy and roadmap for your verticals, ensuring delivery is in line with commercial objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Lead product positioning and discovery, drawing on market trends, competitor analysis and customer needs.
- Translate stakeholder challenges into clear product enhancements, and determine their priority and business case.
- Partner closely with Engineering Leads to manage sprint velocity and delivery.
- Support delivery ceremonies and write user stories, including gathering requirements and driving new solutions.
- Validate solutions against agreed business outcomes, requirements and designs, and support implementation and production verification.
- Partner with Sales and Marketing on go to market and launches, ensuring Sales has the propositions, collateral and training to take products to market.
- Monitor the operational performance of your verticals and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Champion the voice of the customer, using data, testing and experimentation to improve customer journeys and product decisions.
- Bring an AI first mindset, identifying practical opportunities to use AI and automation in the product and in how the team works.
Skills and experience
- 3 to 6+ years in digital product management, including at least 2 years in payments, banking or financial services.
- A track record of customer discovery, hypothesis testing, prototype validation and turning data into prioritised product decisions.
- The ability to read and discuss APIs, payloads, protocols, and gateway and partner integrations with senior engineers.
- Working knowledge of Jira, Confluence, content management systems and Claude, and an understanding of Figma and Power BI.
- Experience working closely with engineering and delivery teams to turn customer and business needs into scalable solutions.
- Experience in any of our verticals is a plus, but not required. Strong product judgement and the ability to learn a market quickly matter more.
Personal attributes
We are looking for someone high energy and ambitious, hands on and comfortable moving between strategy and execution, pragmatic in a lean and changing environment, and collaborative and low ego, with the confidence to challenge constructively.
Working relationships
- Internal: Product, Engineering, Integrations, Marketing, Sales, Strategy, Risk and Compliance, Commercial and Finance.
- External: Solution partners, key clients, schemes, processors and banking partners.
Why Zenith Payments

With a new leadership structure, an enterprise wide rebrand and significant organisational transformation underway, our Product Managers will have real scope to shape how our brands grow and lead their markets. Operating in a private equity backed environment, Zenith Payments anticipates significant evolution over the coming years. For an ambitious product leader who enjoys building and shaping rather than simply inheriting and managing, this is an opportunity to have visible and meaningful impact.
