Purpose of the role:
The Account Executive will drive Zembl’s revenue growth by identifying, nurturing, and closing high-value SME opportunities. This role manages the full sales cycle, from prospecting and lead generation through to negotiation and contract closure. Using a consultative sales approach, you will build strong customer relationships and deliver tailored energy solutions that maximise value for clients and Zembl.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Identify, prospect, and engage high-value SME customers through phone, email, LinkedIn, networking, referrals, and in-person meetings
- Build and manage a strong pipeline of new business opportunities across the full sales cycle
- Conduct consultative needs analyses to understand customer energy requirements and deliver tailored solutions
- Develop strong relationships with key decision-makers, including business owners and senior stakeholders
- Re-engage previous Zembl customers to drive renewed business opportunities
- Deliver compelling sales presentations, manage negotiations, and close contracts effectively
- Manage high-usage and multi-site SME accounts with a customer-first approach
- Maintain accurate CRM records, sales activity tracking, and pipeline forecasting
- Stay informed on market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments
- Consistently achieve and exceed sales targets, KPIs, and revenue goals while adhering to compliance standards
Type of person suited to this role:
This role suits an individual that is highly motivated and results-driven with a strong sales aptitude. You are skilled at identifying customer needs and providing tailored solutions through a consultative and customer-centric approach. Ideally you will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field (preferred)
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Business Development Representative, developing lead generation and prospecting skills
- 1 year experience as an Account Executive or in a similar sales role, with a focus on SME customers
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively
- Resilience and persistence in overcoming objections and closing deals
- Adept at building rapport and establishing long-term customer relationships
- Familiarity with energy products, services, and the ability to consultative sell energy products to customers
- Refined soft skills, including active listening, negotiation, and relationship building
- Proven track record of consistently achieving sales targets and goals. A passion for sales, customer engagement, and a drive to exceed expectations.
