The Opportunity:
The Y Northern Territory is currently recruiting an Aquatic Coordinator for our Yuendumu Pool.
Working with the Remote Pools Project offers a unique opportunity to live and work in a First Nations community in Top End, delivering a vital community service by providing safe swimming experiences and delivery of community-led programs that aims to improve community health and wellbeing and equip children and young people with water safety skills and knowledge to prevent drowning.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all of the community.
- Lead, inspire, and develop a team of local staff and visiting volunteers to effectively deliver safe swimming experiences for the whole community, enable community-led health promotion and coordinate swimming and water safety programs.
- Design and deliver innovative aquatic and recreational programs that meet the needs of the community.
- Develop, engage, and collaborate to improve local relationships while identifying partnerships, programs, and events that may benefit the community and the Y.
- Maintain a clean, welcoming, and open environment for all members of staff and the community.
- Implement and oversee risk management strategies to ensure a safe and secure environment in accordance with relevant legislation.
- Manage financial planning, payroll, budgeting, and reporting to ensure the facility is financially stable.

Qualifications and Experience
- Current Pool Lifeguard Certificate
- Pool Technical Operator Certificate (desired)
- Current First Aid (HLTAID003 or higher) and CPR
- Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card)
- Satisfactory National Police Check
- Proven experience in aquatic operations and team leadership (3 years preferred)
- Excellent communication, organisational and mentoring skills
- Ability to engage and collaborate with diverse community groups
- Strong knowledge of aquatic safety and compliance regulations
Mandatory Requirements

- Valid Working with Children Clearance.
