Yilli Rreung Housing Aboriginal Corporation is seeking a compassionate and motivated Outreach Support Worker to join our team.

This rewarding role provides outreach support to people experiencing homelessness or rough sleeping by building positive relationships, assisting with basic needs, and connecting clients with appropriate support services.

About the Role

As an Outreach Support Worker, you will work alongside our Outreach team to engage with vulnerable members of the community, provide practical support, and assist clients in accessing housing, health and other community services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in community outreach activities.
  • Build respectful and trusting relationships with clients.
  • Distribute food, water, hygiene packs and essential supplies.
  • Assist clients to access housing, health and support services.
  • Record client interactions and maintain accurate records.
  • Work within a culturally safe and trauma-informed environment.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Experience working with people experiencing homelessness, disadvantage or vulnerable communities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A compassionate, respectful and non-judgemental approach.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • A current Police Check (or willingness to obtain one).
  • A Working with Children Clearance (OCHRE Card) or willingness to obtain.
  • A current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain.

A qualification in Community Services or a related field is highly regarded.
